Cabinet decided to discontinue the payment of commission on postage stamps previously retained by shopkeepers who sold stamps in connection with their business. In future no commission will be paid to those selling stamps outside the post office. The estimated annual saving, is set down at £3OOO. Licenses for the sale of stamps by shopkeepers are now expiring, ana will not be renewed.
