MR MOLONEY’S MISSION

VANCOUVER, sth January. The Australian Minister of Markets, Mr Parker Moloney, arrived on Monday from Ottawa, and was greeted by the Hon. J. W. Jones, Minister of Finance, oil behalf of the British Columbia Government and representative of businessmen. Mr Moloney goes to Victoria on Tuesday to take up trade matters with the Provincial Government. Mr Moloney was uncommunicative regarding details of the proposed new treaty, but business men fully appreciate bis businesslike attitude and bis evident conviction that trade between Canada and Australia can be increased.

TRIUMPH FOR MR MOLONEY RATIFICATION OF TREATY CERTAIN !Received 7th January, 9.45 a.m.) VANCOUVER, 6th January. The visit of Mr Moloney, which has completely eradicated the trade friction between ’Canada and Australia so apparent a few months ago, is regarded as a triumph for the Minister, tie was tendered a Slate dinner at Victoria today. The ratification of the new treaty by the Canadian Parliament is a foregone conclusion.
