The attendance was large and the course in good oi’der. Results:— Trial Hack Handicap, of 90 sovs; six furlongs and a half —1 Solvear, 9.2 (M. Kirwan) 1; 5 Crunchen!. 7.11, 2; 3 Coll, 7.7, 3. Scratched: Jael, Thurnham. Won by two lengths, half a length. Time. 1.23 3-5. Highweight Handicap, of 100 sovs; seven furlongs.—s Gourmet, 8.2 (Lee), 1; 2 Pari, 8.9, 2; 3 Audience. 8.7, 3. Scratched: Takutama. Won by a length each way. Time, 1.29 2-5. WESTLAND TROTTING CLUB HOKITIKA, This Day. The Westland Trotting Club’s Meeting adjourned from Saturday was held today. The weather'was fine but threatening, and the track good. The attendance was moderate. Results: — District Handicap, of 70 sovs; one mile and a quarter. —1 Indian Author, 1; 4 Altair, 2.; 3 Galindo Rose, 3. Scratched: Matchglow. Won by four lengths, two lengths. Time, 3.7. Kanieri Handicap, of 80 sovs; one mile,—2 Jean Drusus, 1; 1 Honi Heke, 2 ; 6 Gold Spear. 3. Scratched: Matchglow, Homeward Bound, Dillon Logan. Won by a length, a length. Time, 2.22 3-5.
