P. AND T. DEFEAT ATHLETIC CENTURY TO SEXTON At the Park on Saturday P. and T. gained a four point win defeating Athletic by three wickets and 153 runs on the first innings. P. and T. batted first and declared with seven for QBl, to which Athletic replied'with 182. Sexton of P. and T. was in excellent form and remained unbeaten with 130 to his credit. The Athletic batsmen tried very hard to force a draw. The last two batsmen added only ten runs for half an hour’s play, the. last wicket falling within half a minute from time. Scores:—
P. and T. —Seven wickets for 281 (declared) Sexton 130 not out, Mcßride 50, Colvin 38, Veysey 26, McMaster 13. Athletic--128 (Maclean 40. Kinzett 19, W. Delaney 12). Bowling: .For P. and T. Sexton took four for 34, Mcßride two for 49, Veysey none for 13, McMahon none for 7, Tuckey three for 4. For Athletic: Kinzett none for 22, Grooby none for 43, Mac Lean none for 16, Hill one for 33, Cole none for 41, Winn four for 55, Stallard one for 13, L. Delaney none for 18, Hockey one for 31.
