MOTORIST SENT TO GAOL
SERIES OF OFFENCES
(By Telegraph—Press Association) AUCKLAND, 3rd January. Mr F. K. Hunt, S.M., to-day sent one motor-cyclist to gaol and fined another £5 for being intoxicated. Frederick George Palette (29) was sentenced to a month’s imprisonment. The, police said that he got into difficulties in a city street and crashed. He was taken to* hospital for treatment and escaped. The Magistrate said the accused had a bad list in connection with his motorcycle, and had been ordered not to ride for two years. He was not going to pass over the latest offence. William Charles Griffiths (34), who crashed- into fi car in Queen street, was fined £5.
“Let” him sell liis motor-bike,” said the Magistrate when the defendant asked for time to pay.
