LONDON AGENCY OF VICTORIAN SAVINGS BANK
(United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright) (Received 3rd January, 10.25 a.m.) MELBOURNE. This Day. A London cable stated that the agency of the Victorian State Savings Bank has been instructed to refuse refuse deposits and this is believed to he a preliminary to its closing. The general manager, Mr Cooch, said it was not intended to close the London agency, but further deposits were not wanted as the present rate of exchange rendered the transfer of money unprofitable.
