She sprang from her bed, hammerloeked the intruder, and the pair rolled down, the stairs, Marie grimly keeping a stranglehold until the poiice arrived. Beaunville pleaded that the girl had sufficiently punished him, but the Court did not agree and thought five vears’ imprisonment a more fitting punishment.
