STRUCK A TARTAR
A BURGLAR SURPRISED (United Press Association—By Eleotrlo Telegraph—Copyright) PARIS, 31st December. A burglar. Gustave Beaunville. struck a tartar when he entered the bedroom of the twenty-five-year-old Marie Grancichet, who is a practised wrestler. She sprang from her bed, hammerloeked the intruder, and the pair rolled down, the stairs, Marie grimly keeping a stranglehold until the poiice arrived. Beaunville pleaded that the girl had sufficiently punished him, but the Court did not agree and thought five vears’ imprisonment a more fitting punishment.
