HOCKEY REPRESENTATIVES
iTo the Editor)
Sir, —As a frequent spectator at hockey matches, I must confess that I am astonished at the choices made by the respective selectors of the senior and junior teams to visit Blenheim next Saturday. The senior selector has chosen only one player from the Kiwi Club whicli won the championship this year without any great difficulty, and 'surely the club "should he entitled to have' at least several representatives in the team. In Monday's "Mail" we were informed that the" combination of the Kiwi junior forwards was an object lesson to many senior teams, yet the selector picks only two of those forwards to play for Nelson, the halves and backs who so ably supported their forwards are rejected altogether. What can bo the explanation? In conclusion, Sir, I venture to express the opinion that Marlborough will be able to add further feathers to her cap next Saturday. I am, etc., PUZZLED. Nelson, 7th August.
