PROTEST FROM DUNEDIN
(By Telegraph—Press Association)
DUNEDIN, This Day. The Import Committee of the Dunedin Chamber of Commerce passed the following resolution :—"ln view of the fact that the jmports for the five months ended 31st May show an appreciable increase over those for the same period of 1927-28, we consider that by the year-end the deficit in Customs revenue will be automatically wiped out. We strongly protest against the additional primage, which in many cases cannot be passed on. and are of opinion that the Government could economise in many directions."
