TOWN BOARD MEETING

At the ordinary meeting of the Tfthunanni Town Board held in the Town ILill there were present .Messrs F. W. Greenshule (chairman), C. 1. L. Bell, 0. Cunningham, J. L. 0. Day, F. Hobern, L. Ingham, M. O’Sullivan. Accounts amounting to £122 LSs (id were passed, for payment. Correspondence was received from the Main Highways Board enclosing circular regarding the appointment of traflie inspectors, and calling mr general action on tho part of local authorities in the direction of the control of heavy traffic. The board agreed to the Waimea County Council suggestion that the apportionment of heavy traffic fees for the past year should he on the same basis as was unanimously agreed upon for the previous year. The Workers’ ' Co-operative Society asked for metal to be spread in front of their shop. —The matter is to. be dealt with.

The Main Highways Board advised that it regretted it was unable to give £3 to £1 subsidy on the sea-wall. Ylr Cunningham reported on an inspection of the hillside slip with the chairman, Ylr Day, Mr May and Mr Merrycroft, of the Public Works Department. After discussing the matter with Mr May, Ylr Ylay said he would write to the Ylain Highways Board asking for a survey to enable a comprehensive scheme to be brought down. The question of removal of rubbish in the township was gone into and the board was unanimous that a general dean up should take place, The matter was deferred until a suitable place is found for the disposal of rubbish.
