NGATIMOTI IiIiANCII » * The usual two-rnoathly meeting of the Ngatimoti branch of the Farmers’ Union was hold' at Fangatartara, whoa Mr A. L. Guy ‘presided over a big attendance. CbVrospondenoe was recoivco from the Waimea County Council re old School Hill load, Ngatimoti, stating ; it bad decided not to take any action.' .Regarding grader parings thrown on the side of Lhe road, the engineer was asked to report. In view of the dangerous state of the School llili road, it was decided to write to the council asking it to erect a sign at either approach notifying travellers of the danger. The other matter lias been a sure point with ratepayers for years, and it was decided to ask the Provincial Executive, to deal with it. •The, Cawthron Institute wrote stating that they would bo pleased to give a lecture on "Useful and Useless Grasses” at Ngnmoti on 17th September. Ip regard to a letter' asking Mr Black's assistance to have tho Ngatimoti P.O. Price’s Corner road declared a main highway, Mr Guy reported having interviewed Mr Black. Mr Black stated his willingness, subject to having the necessary data, to assist in every way possible to have the raid declared a main highway, and that he would visit the locality at the first opportunity. Mr D. T. Llewellyn, delegate to tho Provincial Executive, reported at length : on the last meeting of the executive called to render assistance to the farmers in lhe Murchison area. Mr Pownall moved and Mr Davis seconded, that the Farmers’ Union take the necessary steps to appoint a legal Udviser through whom farmers could seek advice either individually or as a body. This was carried unanimously. A vote of thanks moved by Mr Durrani to the Ngatimoti members for 1 coming down to Pangatotara concluded the meeting.
