SOUTHLAND DEFEATS OTAGO (By Telegraph —Press Association) INVERCARGILL, This Day. The first of the season’s representative Rugby football games against Otago ended in victory for the home side by 11 points to 5.' ’Die ground was greasy, but the attendance was large.. The game was principally confined to the forwards, with honours going to Southland. Despite the condition of the ground the play was decidedly fast, and the pace kept up to the end.
