DAMAGE BY FIRE
OUTBREAK IN FUR FACTORY (By Telegraph—Press Association) 'DUNEDIN, This Day. Damage amounting to several, hundred pounds was, caused by a fire in the Commercial Bank of Australia buildings. The outbreak was located in a workroom occupied by the Arctic Fur Company on the second floor. The workroom was completely gutted, while heavy floor joists were burned through, and flooring demolished. The contents of the workroom were not covered by insurance. The bank premises suffered to some extent by water and smoke. The buildings w’ere insured for £9OOO. GREENMEADOWS LOSSES NAPIER, This Day. The value of wine destroyed by the fire at the Greemneadows mission station is estimated at £23,000, the building £I4OO, and the plant £SOOO. The only insurance was a policy for £IOOO. All that was saved was 1800 gallons of last season’s vintage.
