THE NEW ZEALAND ROAD CHAMPIONSHIP (By Telegraph—Press Association) / CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. The action of the New Zealand Athletic, Cycling and Axemen’s Association in allotting the New Zealand road championship to the Taranaki centre for its round the mountain race, was the subject of strong complaint at a meeting of the North Canterbury centre of the New Zealand Union. This championship formerly has always been allotted to the Timaru-Christchurch road race. The New Zealand Union is to be asked to reconsider its decision. The Timaru-Christchurch race will he held on sth October, and the centre will go on with its arrangements.
