MURCHISON RESTORATION SUPERVISION

(To the Editor) Sir, —When Mr Stringer was appointed supervisor and executive officer by the Nelson Belief Committee at a remuneration of £3 3s per day, lie staled that'he would appoint a qualified assistant, to accompany him and pay all expenses and wages of this man himself. This he is doing and the assistant, is a very active and competent second to Mr Stringer. When in Murchison on Monday last I heard on all hands expressions of the greatest satisfaction with the work they are doing, and the further report to the Committee shows that the work is going on at a very rapid rate. Still, T am sorry that this has riot been made clear sooner. —T am. etc., W. W. SNODGRASS. Nelson, 29th July.
