RED SPIDER AND LEAF HOPPER

(To the Editor) Sir. —I rend with interest, a statement by Mr George Lee in your paper of 25tli July in reference to the above orchard posts. If there are any such parasites to be procured in Great Britain as Mr Lee describes, surely it is time the Horticultural Department made some sort of investigation into the habits of these bugs which would be of great value to tlip fruitgrowers of New Zealand, provided they did not do more harm than good in some other direction. I make the suggestion that the fruitgrowers strongly urge the Government to investigate this matter, also the Cawthron Institute, and trv and save a lot of spray which is so costly. Wake un, fruitgrowers, and help get things done.—l am, etc., NO BUG. Tasman, 29th July.
