PERSONAL ITEMS

Dr. W. A. Slidge, B.Sc, Ph.D., of the staff of Leeds University, arrived in Wellington to-day by tho Ruahine from London. On Friday he proceeds to Christ church. He makes Canterbury University College his headquarters for the period of about six months that he will spend in New Zealand, but a large part of his time will be occupied in travelling in various parts of the Dominion, doing botanical work. He will collect a number of specimens for Kew Gardens. —Press Association.
