REFUSED ADMITTANCE

It was tropically hot this morning when a hundred American women students, who are touring Europe, appeared at the Cathedral dressed in male riding attire. The scandalised vergers refused them admittance. The students, noting that the guidebook said the Cathedral must not be missed, marched to a neighbouring store, and purchased a large quantity of cheap coloured print overalls, which they slipped on anti returned to the Cathedral, when they were readily admitted.
