MONTHLY MEETING In spile of the prevalence of influenza there was a good at tendance at the monthly meeting of the Flunket Society held iri the Waiinea County Council Chamber. New members of committee were’welcomed hv Airs Wallace: (President), and arrangements were made, to hold the annual Blanket Ball and-Child-ren’s Party some time in August, the date to be advertised as soon as fixed. The devotion to duty of Plunkct Nurses Paseoc and Mason during the recent troubled times and their splendid organisation of offered assistance and relief to Murchison mothers and babies was l lie subject of much favourable comment Nurse .Mason’s monthly visit to .Murchison is of course suspended for the present ; Dovedale, too, is inaccessible for ii time. 'The Nurses’ report showed that the babies had not suficred to any extent from (he general upset, hut were all remarkably well, except for minor colds.
The silver paper collected has been packed and weighed and now amounts to about 3001 bs. The committee would like to have it made up to 560ibs —a ouartor of a ton—before shipping it to England. Accounts amounting lo £7O 5s 2d were passed for payment. As there were some omissions in the list of committees published in the report of tile annual meeting, the complete list is appended.
