TREMORS IN NELSON

Several tremors have been felt locally since midday yesterday. The most noticeable were' at 4.51 p".rn. yesterday and 5.24 a.m. to-day.

TAKAKA AND MURCHISON

The Chief Postmaster at Nelson. (Mr 0. W. Hazelton) has received the following telegram from the Postmasters at Murcliison and Takaka, respectively: Murcliison: "Rivers normal. Weather fine. Several detonations during night with minor tremors. More severe ones at 5 p.m. and 10 p.m." Takaka: "Shakes accompanied by loud rumbling noises continued throughout night. .At 4.51 p.m., 10.15 p.m., 10.48 p.m., 1.12 a.m. and 9.2 a.m. Tremors of greater frequency also experienced."
