IN HIGH FLOOD
SOUTH CANTERBURY RIVERS ROADS UNDER WATER TEMUKA AND TIMARU CUT OFF, (By Telegraph—Press Association) TIMARU, This Day. South Canterbury is experiencing the worst flood for several years. All rivers are in high flood and southerly seas are banking up the mouths and preventing the water getting away. Water is lying four feet deep in places. Temuka and Timaru are both cut off by road. Pareora bridge to the south is blocked by flood water. Mackenzie County suffered severely. There is three feet of snow in some parts. Bridges and approaches were washed away and settlers marooned. In Timaru four inches of rain was recorded. The worst appears to be passed. FLOOD WATERS RECEDING CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. The flood waters arc now receding in North Canterbury. Fine weather is prevailing. The breaks on the Coleridge electric power lines have been repaired.
