PUBLIC BENEFACTIONS
GENEROUS BEQUESTS BY THE LATE MR J. E. HOUNSELL SCHOLARSHIPS FOR THE COLLEGES Under the will of the late Mi; Jesse Ernest Hounsell, bookseller, of Nelson, tho following legacies have been bequeathed, payable on the termination of certain prior interests : "(1) To the Nelson Institute, £IOO. (2) To the Salvation Army, £IOO. >) To the Royal New Zealand Society lor the Health of Women and Children, £IOO. (4) To St. Andrew's Orphanage, £IOO. (5) To the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, £IOO. (6) To the Auckland Point School, £IOO. (7) To. the Central School, £IOO. (8 To the Hampden Street School, £IOO. (9) To Nelson College Governors £SOO for the purpose of founding and establishing a scholarship at Nelson Boys' College. (10) To Nelson College Governors £SOO tor the purpose of founding and estabjlishing a scholarship at Nelson Girls College. The residue of the estate is to be divided into two equal parts, one share for the Tahuna Sands Association should it be in existence at a certain time, and the other share for tho Trustees of the Nelson Anglican Cathedral Fund. The Public Trustee is the executor and sole trustee.
