MOTUEKA RIVER

INSPECTION P,Y ENGINEER Mr E. MeKcnzic, Assistant-Engineer-in-Chief of the. Public Works Department, arrived from Wellington on Thursday for an inspection of the Motueka River. He was accompanied on the tour by the Mayor (Mr S. P. Clay), councillors and several interested citizens. After the inspection Mr McKenzie. informed the Mayor that it would be necessary to have the river surveyed ; and that on his return to Wellington on Friday morning the matter would be placed before the Minister of Public Works. After the survey had been made a report would follow in due course.
