NELSON BREEDERS’ CLUB ANNUAL MEETING Tho Nelson Jersey Cattlo Breeders’ Club held its annual meeting at Rich*, mend, when there were present: Messrs E. Smalll)(>|K! (chairman), J. W. Sutton, A. G. Gridin, Wallace 1). Dron, G. 11. Wearing, C. B. Webby, G. Lewis. L. A. lliggins, W. Hill, and T. B. Iluffam. The president (Mr J. Hunt) sent an apology for absence. A letter was read from a New Zealand firm re the importation of an outstanding bull in which the firm slated ifh wish (o assist tho club in any feasible way. After considerable, discussion it was resolved that (ho firm bn written to stating that the. dub is holding the proposition over. The Danncvirko Jersey Cattle Club wrote asking for support of a remit to the head association : That the head association pay half the fee of £8 8s for the first cow entered for a C.O.R. test instead of as at present subsidising on the production. The secretary explained that he liad requested the South Island member of tlio council to support tlio remit on Nelson’s behalf. His action was endorsed.
The annual report and balance sheet were read, and showed that tho club was £7 better off than last year. Both were adopted. The election of officers and executive for the ensuing year resulted:—President. Mr L. A. lliggins; vice-president, Mr Wallace I). Dron; treasurer. Mr A. G. Griffin; executive. Messrs J. Hunt, C. B. Webby, G. IT. Wearing and E. Smallbone. It was resolved that in futuro flic meetings be held in the afternoon of tlie first Saturday in the months of September, November, April and July, and that tho meetings take place on members’ farms’, the first at Mr Wearing’s Beachvilie farm and the next at Mr L A. Higgins’s, Waikare, Belgrove. The feasibility of holding an auction sale this coming spring was discussed, and it was resolved that should sufficient support bo forthcoming it bo. held in September. Tho secretary is to circularise all members as to their support. It was decidod that it be a recommendation to the Nelson A. and P. Committee that all cups and ribbons won on the A. and P. show ground bo presented on the parade.
