RESULT OF RAID IN TARANAKI (By Telegraph—Press Association) NFW PLYMOUTH, This Day. - In the Magistrate's Court this morning lb men. were charged with bookmaking and kindred offences, as the result of' the recent raid. Each defendant was charged with carrying on business as a bookmaker, belting on tolalisator odds. and issuing double charts. All pleaded not guilty to the bookmaking charge; but guilty to' cue or more of the others. • The resul 1 was that Oeorge MeGlashan was fined £4O on two charges of issuing double charts; John Allen, £BO on four charges of offering totalisator iuils: Herbert John Allen', father of John Allen, £4O on two charges of offering totalisator odds; Robert Mascall, £(jo for issuing double charts and on charge-! of offering totalisator odds; .John Shore. £3O on four charges of of-fm-iiif! lo'idisato? odds; Oscar Roveo Ulander. £4O on two charges of offering totalisator odds.
