CHAMPIONSHIP MEETING (By Telegraph—Press Association) NAPIER, This Day. The New Zealand gun championship meeting was continued at Lon'glands, Hastings, under improved weather conditions. Two handicap matches were fired and competition was keen and even. In the first match, a ten-bird live pigeon event for a stake of £IOO, eight shooters returned possibles—R. Arnst (Tatapu), R. Buick (Masterton), A. Stead (Awapawanui), J. Lomas (Auckland), H. Clinch (Whangarei) E. Ransdell (Invercargill), H. J. McDonald (Hastings), and 0. Nelson (Hastings). The second match was a ten-bird open sparrow handicap, two misses out, for a £SO stake. Four competitors tied and divided the money—ll. Clinch, M. Pratt, W. Niehol, and R. Arnst, who all made possibles. N.Z. CHAMPIONSHIPS HASTINGS, This Day. The New Zealand pigeon championship title was won by H. Clinch (Whangarei) after a record shoot off (29 birds) with E. Groome (Otane). The match was evenly contested all the way. Seven competitors had one miss apiece. Clinch beat M. Pratt (Otarahunga) for the aggregate trophy over all the championship matches.
