Messrs Levin and Co., Ltd., have received the following cable from their London agents, dated 15th, July, 1929 : The auctions fairly animated, but as compared "with opening rates, the market shows a. weakening tendency, particularly for merinos arid halfbreds. As at present arranged, the sales will close on 23rd July next. The following prices are current:— Merino super 18d to 21d per lb, average 16d to 18a; fine halfbred super 56/58's 19d to 20d, average 17d to 18d; medium halfbred super 50/56's 17d to 18d, average 16d to 17d; coarse halfbred super 48/50's to 17d, average 15d to 16d ; line crossbred .super 46/48's 15(1 to 16d, average 14JU1 to 15d; medium crossbred super 44/46's to 15d, average 14d to 14-J.d; coarse crossbred super 40/44's 14d to 15d, average 13£d to 14d; low crossbred super 36/40's 14d to average 13d to 13Ad; pieces 11J dto 14d; bellies to 12-^d; locks 7<d to BJ,d.
