FARMERS' UNION" SUGGESTIONS The deputation from th e Farmers' Union which waited on the Hon. H. Atmore yesterday suggested the following land valuers to assess the loss in value of farming lands in the affected area:—Mr A. K. Edwards, Motueka; -Mr C. G. O'Brien. Murchison; Mr Geo. Manson, Stoke; Mr Newton McConochie, Glenhope. In addition to the above the Farmers' (.-moil has asked the Nelson Belief Committee to appoint two competent and active valuers to assess loss by damage to buildings and domestic commodities, these valuers to work in two sets of each two land valuers and one valuer for buildings, etc., so as to eomnlete the whole work expeditiously. The following resolution was also passed: 'That the Government be asked to guarantee not Jess than Is 6d per ib. to Murchison factory suppliers for butterfat for three years, commencing with next, season, and that the. Hon. H. Atmore he asked to approach the Government on the matter."
