The French re-established posts southward of Oniergha River and expelled the invaders, precluding a fresh Riff offensive in tlm direction of 'I. a/.a Eel Fact. Riffs hold Bibane hills and prevented the french victualling several posts in the vicinity and were compelled .to drop food from aeroplanes. They also dropped blocks of ice for water. The reports of tin* successes in Morocco only partially allayed the growing apprehensions that a big campaign lies ahead of the French forces. General Colombat’s column arrived before Bibane and encountered solidly organised riffs in successive lines of trenches covered by remarkably accurate artillery fire, suggesting that Europeans were working the guns. The latest news indicates'the French stemmed the enemy advance, though a number of French rmsts arc still besieged.
