SOCIAL KVKNIXG
A most enjoyable social, organised by the stall, was held, in the West Moutere packing shed on Tuesday evening. More than thirty suppliers and pickers attended this function, which marked the conclusion of a very successful apple season for the group. The shed was artistically decorated with flowers, flags and pampas grass. During the evening vocal items, rendered, by the following, were much appreciated:— Mr T. P. Henderson, “Theres’ a little Old Cabin” and “Bonnie Wee Thing”; Mr Palmer, “Cameron Men”; Mr 1\ Herrick, “The Club.” The accompaniments were played by Mr Henderson. For a time games were indulged in, and all present thoroughly enjoyed themselves. An excellent supper >Vas provided and dispensed by the ladies. Mr A. Everett, president of tht> group, on behalf of the growers and shed workers, presented Air F. Farley fmanager) with an attache case in re.cognition of the able manner in which he had conducted the affairs of the shed. The social evening was. brought to a successful conclusion with the singing of “Auld Lang Syne.”
