LONDON, May 5
The wool sales opened with a 20 per cent decline. Withdrawals were very heavy.
AGENT’S REPORT
Messrs E. Buxton and Co. Ltd., advise, having received the following cablegram from their London agents, Messrs Sanderson Murray and Elder, Ltd., under date sth jnst. : —Sales opened ; large, attendance buyers. Bad competition; heavy withdrawals. Merino poor selection offered; declined 15 pr cut; crossbred greasy fine declined 25 per cent ; medium coarse declined 30 per cent; crossbred scoured declined 20 to 25 per cent.
