A STEAMER'S ESCAPE. (Rec. Sept. 28. 2.50 p.m.)' NEW YORK, Sept. 27." Captain Fishwick, of the steamer An* tinous, from Gibraltar, en route to NewYork, has arrived at Newport News, Virginia. He states that off the Algerian coast a submarine" shelled the Antinous, but the steamer defended itself by gnns. The submarine was unable to discharge the torpedo, and was finally outdistanced.
