The flower carnivajflield at Riwaka on Monday (under the auspices of the Lady .Liverpool Committee) with a view to racing funds to purchase Christmas gilts for our soldiers on active service, was an unqualified; success, over J2l/70 toeing raised. Considerable interest was taken ill the election of flower queen, for which, there were no less than 22 candidates. The first three wore placed as follows: Miss Ruby Fry i(Umukturi') 1 Miss Jean Fry (Umukuri) 2 Miss 'Nigare Inglis 3 The profession was a special feature, the prize for the most, original costume going to M'is s lliazel Sigley, representing "Sweet Briar," with Miss 'Hazel Askew second as "Snowball."—Star.
