MISSION AT MOTUEKA
A correspondent writes:—Last night, in spite- of counter-attractions, the Evangelistic service held at the Methodist Church here was very well attended. At the close of an earnest, impassioned appeal by the Rev. Val. Trigge, several stood np in their places in the audience as an expression of their intention to follow Jesus Christ. The singing of the Alexander Tymns was hearty, the local choir being reinforced by a contingent from Nelson, which provided a copital duet entitled "When the Pearly Gates Unfold," and a ringing chorus. "I am Walking Every Day with Jesus." After the meeting proper the Nelson partytook charge of the proceedings, and sang several new hymns and choruses new to ns here, and these were listened to till quite a late hour with keen enjoyment. Arrangements are complete for an openair demonstration and torcch-light procession, followed by service in the church, to-night, and * the Old Folks' At Home promises to be a great success tomorrow afternoon. The Mission closes on Tuesday next.
