OPENING OF THE PROCEEDINGS. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association.) LONDON, Sept. 19. There was a full attendance at the opening of the Dardanelles inquiry, which promises to be one of the most important and thorough _ ever held in Great Britain. The evidence of Colonel Sir Maurice Hankey, Secretary of the Committee of Imperial Defence, occupied the whole day, and is likely to occupy another. Mr Churchill. Lord Grey, and Mr Asquith -will be the next witnesses. The inquiry was adjourned for a week.
