GREAT BATTLE RAGING-. PROGRESS ■BY THE RUSSIANS. (Reuter's Telegrams.) PETROGRAD J Sent. 19. A igrealti battle on the Tiver Narajawka, northward of Halicz, has been; raiginsiar three days. The Riusisilans attacked' on Saturday morning, the fighting being hahd-tb-hand. Repeated German counter-at-tacks were held' upl The struggle ffor the 'village of .SnisteLniky, •eastwards' of the river, was extareimiely •costly, the pla.ce changing hands six times. Armoured cars were most pa^ominient. The whole of the first line of trenches was occupied on Saturday". ■On Sunday the Russian, infantry neattaeked simiultaueously on nine sections of the front, and three lines of! trenches fell. The fighting is stilll! most severe.
