HINDENBURG TAKES COMMAND. ENEMY'S DOBRUDJA VICTORIES. REGARDED AS MYTHICAL AT PETROGRAD. (Rec. Sept. 19. 11.50 a.m.) PETROGRAD, Sept. 18. The Daily News correspondent says Hindenburg, believino- the south-eastern section is most critical, is himself taking command in Transylvania and the Carpathians, and sending every available man to the front, making the enemy's forces in the south-east 1,500,000, of which 300.000 are Germans. Military critics at Petrograd opine that Mackensen's decisive victory in the Dobrudja is mythical, and that really the Allies, opposed to superior numbers, retired to stronger positions. the rearguards inflicting the heaviest losse.
