7:;:.; WEBTPOBT,'Saturday. A mass meeting of coalminers was told at Waimangaroa fo-day. The meeting was; not open to the newspaper reporters,-biit information has been given that after a lengthy discussion the following resolutions were carried unanimously: — 1.- That the Miners' Federation Executive be asked to meet the officers of tho Westport Coal Company and try to. get iho Company to do away with the medical examination, .and failing tbe Company complying with the request, that- the* Federation^be asked tb arrange to %et:;legidatioh passed doing away with, such examination. 2. That the Granity and Denniston. Medical Association be requested to have the medical examination discontinued. 3. That the officers' of the Miners- Federation, also Mr Colvin, M.P., and Mr O'Began be thanked for their services on behalf of the miners.
