THE MOTOR 'BUS SERVICE.

TO THE EDITOR. Sir,—l wish to draw attention to the way in which the motor car service caters for the convenience of the public. Yesterday they ran to Tahuna at the usual time—9 a.m.—with a loaded car ; again the early afternoon car, also laden, to say nothing of the numbers who walked from the Rocks, in the happy belief that they would get a car home at half-pa.'t five. Certainly at that hour a car did arrive, and was immediately filled, but the numbers who were not fortunate enough to get room were assured by the driver that there would be another car sent down fur them. We therefore made ourselws as comfortable as- possible on lops of wood, on sides of ditches, etc., ar.d waited, and continued to wait-, until fimo "n-c in d'-speration ap-n:-rirhcd (hr telephone bureau; they Hiully r.-.ng up several times, but could •v<t "sot t-v." to the rftrvice. At last, ■ih'-ut a quarter to sevnn. we were in-iV.im.-vI that no car wotiM bo down that „ nicht-. Then conies the long weary j tnvigg homo with t:red children and weary mothers. Now, sir, is it fair a that "such a thing should be? Should &ie- ser\ ice t-.ike down moro people l-haii it intends to bring back? It must pay them just the Bama. Where I [ was waitinn I counted 15 people, and I , don't know how many others who were | waiting further down the road. It is a peat pity that the running cannot be arra-iigrd'so that no further complaints would ba necessary. The drivers must have a very good idea of the- numbers who require to return. Surely it c-nuld be arranged «3 that such a trouble should not be likely to Happen again. I am, etc., A TtRED MOTHER.
