CAVES AT KARAMEA.
OF GREAT EXTENT AND BEAUTY. [United Pbess Associatioh.] WELLINGTON, Tuesday. Information has reached the Tourist Department of the discovery of some exceptionally fine caves about four miles from Karamea; they number 18 in all, and extend for about four miles, being from aßbut one to one-and-a-half miles wide. The crock wanders through the caves, which are particularly rich in stalactites and stalagmites in every conceivable fancy, and in many instances resembling delicate sculpture. In one cave a. moa skeleton (beak as well) was unearthed. In other caves there is evidence of past human occupotion, but these may not be unconnected with the Oparara gold rush of many years ago. ,
