Sir— As a recent visitor to WeiS' Home-Major Blincoc s horse a Nelson woman, and an office! ol many years-that I would endeavour To voice their needs at this particular time of the year in regard to obtaining some fruit for the Homes. With that object in visw I crave a small spaeo in your columns to appeal for donations of fruit to be forwarded to Wellington for the use of the Salvation Army Kescue, Maternity, axid Children's Homes. There are at the present time about 30 inmates of the Bescue Home, beside the officers; o4 children in the Children's Home, -besides the officers; while the Maternity Home is taxed to its utmost If a number of growers could only donate one case each, it would be an invaluable help to the workers for whom I appeal, and the officers would gladly pay freightage. Thanking you in anticipation, I am, etc., HY. CHAS. COOK. Adjt. S.A. 35 Collingwood-street. .... ■p g Any communciations- directed to me will be gladly attended to.— H.'C.C.
