AMUSEMENTS.
RICHARDS' ENTERTAINERS. There was a good attendance at the Theatre Royal last night, when T. A. Richards' Ehterta'fners and Picture Company presented a varied and interesting programme. The performance consisted of a number of up-to-date flickerless pictures, including the last Melbourne Cup race at Flemington, won by Lord Nolan, and taken by Mr A. T. Richards last November, and a number of comic and dramatic films which were frequently applauded. The class of entertainment provided was far higher than that of soma similar shows that have visi.te.Tl Nelson from time to time. Mr Brander Balfour, a pleasing bantone, sang a number of illustrated £° n Ss> in each instance receiving an encore. Mr Will Hughes made a hit with his humorous songs and scarescrow dances, lhe Two Arnolds gave one of the best turns seen in Nelsbn for a long tune, and their clever juggling and knockabout comedy was rewarded with rounds ot well-earned applause. Altogether the entertainment was of a high order, and Mr Richards can rely on a warm welcome on a future visit. Owing to bookinzs ahead the company were unable to extend the season, W Mr R crards announced his intention of paying regular visits to the city. THE KILTIES BAND. The "Kilties" Band will give concerts in Nelson on the 3rd and 4th prox., and on the Xnoon of Wednesday, the 3rd, &**&&&*£ addition to stirring band musK o street parades are always beaded by i flooUWd to with interest.
