RICHMOND HIGHWAY BOARD.

The Board met at Richmond on Saturday, the 3rd December. All member present except Mr Talbot. The minntes of tha last meeting were read and confirmed. Besolved, That the day-man clear the thistles and briars frcm off the Port road and that the Inspector visit and report on the probable expense in putting tbe same in good order, Two accounts were presented, one from the Colonist for £9 18s 2d, and another from Messrs Adams and Kingdon £2 lis, against the late Waimea Road Board. As these accounts did not appear on the list of liabilities furnished by the Secretary of the late Board when the affairs cf the two Boards were adjusted, Resolved, That cne half the amount be paid by this Board provided the Waimea Road Board doea the same. Resolved, That the tender of Mr Newman tor 24s per chain for gravelling the read at Hope be accepted. Resolved, That all rates remaining unpaid after the 31st instant be sued for. Resolved, That Mr Uuffell's offer to deliver gravel from the beach be not entertained, as when the same is required tenders will be invited. Mr Rout gave notice that he wou'd move at the next meeting that the Richmond Highway District be sub-diyided into subdistricts. The Secretary waa instructed to submit a list of by-laws to meeet cases not provided for by The Nelson Highways Act and the Public Works Act.
