Melbourne, Tuesday. Messrs Goldshorough's wool sales opened here yest; rday. There was a good attendance of home and foreign buyers and good competition. Copious rain is now falling throughout Victoria. The embezzlement of £8000 hy two clerks in the employ of Messrs Kronheimer & Co has been discoveied. The books of the firm have been falsified hy the defaulters who ha^e absconded. Sailed, yesterday afternoon— EotonrMna for the Bluff. Port Darwin, Oct. 13. The mails and passengers of the steame. 1 Brisbane have been landed here but the vessel is still on the reef.
