[The first portion of yesterday's Parliament<uy proceedings will be found on the fourth page.] Af tc r a long discnasion over various clauses in the Gaming and Lotteries Bill and several divisions without any important amendment being made, Clauses 46 and 47 were struck out and the rest of the original Bill passed. Mr Dick moved the following new clause: — livery person who uses, exhibits, or keeps any boose, p.per, writing, or other means or sobstanco for the purpose of entering recording or noting BDy bet> wa or ame or who invites, solicits, or procures any person to bet or make any wager or enter into any t nch as aforesaid shal! be liable to the penalties as prescribed by Section 8. Messrs Hussell, McLean, Gisborne, and others protested against this aa going too far. it would make it penal to bet a pair of gloves or a sixpence on a robber, but after some discussion tfce clause was carried by 21 to 14. Atother ntw clause brought dgwn by Mr Dick iks withdrawn,
[ A new clause by Mr De Lautour imposing penalties on keepers of Chinese gambling houses was passed, as also the schedule. The Bin was repoited and the House rose at 1 o clock.
