The funeral of the late Dean Stanley took place at "Westminster Abbey to-day, in the pres. nee of a large nnmber of dignitaries of the Church, members of the Ministry, and others of high rank, who assembled to do honor to his remains. Many of the deceased's piivate friends and numerous spectators were also present. The ceremony was conducted throughout with great innre3sivenes?. In the House of Commons fo-day in reply to a question, Sir W. Ternon Harcourt confirmed the report regarding the infernal machines found on the ship Malta, from America, and paid th t the machines had been confiscated by the authorities at, Liver-po'-l. Iv the Hou3e of Commons to-day a motion was introduced by Sir Michael Hicks-Beach censuring the Government for the terms of peace concluded in March last with the Transvaal Boer 3. After a lengthy debate the motion was rejected by a majority of 109, the votiDg beicg 314 to 205. Pabis, July 25. Telegrams are to hand from Tunis announcing that in consequence of the hostile attitude of the Arab tribe* at Qabee, on the Tunisian coast, the French var vessels are now engaged in bombarding the town.
