London, June 23. Consols remain unchanged at lOOf. The total reserve in notes and bullion in the Bank of England is £16,400,000. Bank rate of discount, 2£ per cent; market rate, I*. New Zealand five per cent 10-40 loan, 105, New Zealand five per cent 1889 loan, 10"; New Zealand 1&79-1904 loan, 103.J Adelaide wheat, ex warehouse, 483 6d; New Zealand wheat, 453 6d; Adelaide flour, ex warehouse, 345 ; Australian tallow, best beef, per cwt, 34s 6d; best mutton, 36a 6d; in Australian leather, prices are firm, especially for heavy kips, and quotations generally are £d to £d higher. Ac the wool auction to-day 9500 bales were catalogued, and a firm and active demand was again experienced. The withdrawals of wool to date amount to 15,000 bales. Communication having been made to the British Government by the Boars, who remained loyalduring the recent war, asking for some compensation in consequence of the withdrawal of the British rule from Transvaal. The Right Hon W. E. Gladstone has addressed a letter in reply in which he states that the Government do not consider the petitioners are entitled to any under the circumstances named. In the House of Commons to-day, the Right Hon. M. E Grant Duff, Under Secretary of State for the Colonies, in reply to a question promised that the Government would take into consideration the question of taking steps to bring about an agreement between the Powers in order ta counteract kidnapping and slavery in the Pacific. Constantinople, June 23. Telegrams are to hand to-day reporting that three Liberal Deputies of the Bulgarian National Assembly have been murdered at Sofia. Much disorder and agitation continues to prevail in the principality.
