London, June 21. The returns of the census taken on the 3rd April last shows that the population of Ireland has decreased by 250,000 during the decade. Intelligence is to hand from Bulgaria reporting that a number of the leading Liberals have been arrested on a charge of attacking Prince Alexander and insulting the Government. Arrived— Ship Lady Jocelyn from Lyttelton, sailed March 30. Consols remain at 100 jj. New Zealand securities are firm at the following quotations :-r-5 per cent 10-40 loan 105 ;*5 per cent 1889 loan 105 ; 4.\ per cent 1879-1901 loan 103. Adelaide and New Zealand breadstuffs are unchanged as follows : — Adelaide wheat er warehouse 48s Gd ; New Zealand 45s Gd ; Adelaide flour 31s ; Australian tallow, best beef is quoted I'4s Gd ; best mutton at 36s 6d. At to-day's wool auction 10,600 bales were offered making a total of 277,600 catalogued since the commencement of the series. The demand for all closses of wool is decidedly firmer.
