CORRESPONDENCE.
TO THE EDITOK OF THE <( EVENING MAIL." Slit,— Now that the railway to Bellgrove is about to be opened, necessitating some revision of the time table, it appears to be a favorable opportunity to call attention to the great need for a late train to and from tOwti at least oucfc a week. At present any visitors to town whom business or pleasure detains later than 4.30 p.m. are compelled either to remain in town the night or to return by private conveyance, while there ate only two trains in the week having Foxhill later than 1.15 p.m. and those so early as 0 p.m. I have spoken to a great many persons on this subject and all have concurred with rile as to the pressing necessity which exists for a" later train service. The crucial question, will such a train pay ? can be only satisfa t >rily answered by actual experiment, but from the very widcipreao desire for incnased accommodation in that direction I am persuaded that the.late trains would be largely used. Jtt would not be difficult to obtain very many iignature* to any memorial to the Government on the subject, but the desired boon would be none the less appreciated if the authorities themselves would take the initiative in a matter in which the public convenience it so intimately concsrned. 1 would suggest that either on Wednesday or Saturday a .train should leave Bellgrove at 8.30 or 9 p.ni returning from Nelson at 10 or 10 30 p.m.— I am, &c, A CountrymAkt.
