Nelaon hai a great treat in store in the approaching season of the Company. Eunedin, Saturday. A man named Thomai Ball was killed last night on the railway line close to the city. He was timekeeper at the Gorernment workshop, and was evidently walking along the lice homewards when the train overtook him and mangled him fearfully. Auckland, Friday. Five young men, some belonging to respectable families, hare been sent to prison for two months. They went to Mrs Moller'a hotel and consumed a quantity of liquor, for which they refused to pay. A man remonstrated with them, whereupon they severely maltreated him. „ . _. Saturday. Captain Wright, formerly American Consul at the Bay of Islands, committed suicide on the 15th February at Marshall Islands by shooting himself in the temple with a. revolver.
